We are the only two foreign researchers/writers permanently based in southern Afghanistan.  This website is a showcase for our research together as well as more regular updates from the ground.

We try to write about things which the international media - too used to speed-dashes through the city - misses or deems unimportant to wider international considerations.  We strongly believe that these details are of fundamental importance to what is going on in southern Afghanistan and wish that more focus would be brought to this complicated area.
